Batik is the most commonly used technique in egg decorating. After the pattern is drawn by a pin or tube on the egg, it is dipped into a vat of color, usually the lightest in the spectrum of hues. The part of the pattern which will sustain this lightest color is then covered with wax at which point, the egg is dipped again using the next darker color. This procedure is repeated several times, from the lightest to darkest hues until completed. Afterwards, the wax is removed by heat.

Since eggs are hand-painted colors and designs may vary.
All hen eggs sold in a set of 5 pieces. Most styles are available with or without the string.
